Abstract

Alcohol addiction is usually conceptualized as an overriding urge to use alcohol, no matter what the difficulties and the consequences are. Also, alcohol use manifests itself not only with psychopathological disturbances, but with organic symptoms as well, which can mimic other diseases, making differential diagnosis challenging. Here, we present the case of an alcohol dependent patient in whom the proper diagnosis of alcohol use was a significant challenge.
